About Me
My name is Margaret Sullivan, and I am currently a teacher candidate at California State University San Marcos. In May 2016 I graduated with a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Biology. While learning has always been a passion, it was not until I transferred to MiraCosta community college in 2012 that I decided to pursue a career teaching at the Middle or High School level. Since that decision I have never looked back, and I am more excited than ever to share my love of science and math with all of my students.
Recently I have begun to reflect on how fortunate I was growing up with a research scientist for a father. The world of biology was tangible, and not the dense subject of a textbook. Going forward, I want to make sure that I make the scientific and mathematical world accessible to all of my students. It is my goal to connect the subjects to their lives and the world around them. With the rate of change we are seeing in the world, these subjects are becoming more important. Education is the first step towards equity, and I want to use my passion for the subjects and learning to shape change in future generations |
